Public Meeting in Mount Pleasant on Tuesday, Dec. 4 Concerning the Proposed SC 41 Bridge Replacement
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a public information meeting in Mount Pleasant on Tuesday, Dec. 4, concerning the proposed SC 41 bridge replacement over the Wando River.
The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department – Park West Complex, 1251 Park W. Blvd., Mount Pleasant.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide information on the proposed SC 41 bridge replacement over the Wando River and to solicit comments from area residents and business owners.  The proposed project includes the replacement of the existing bridge with a fixed span bridge with 55 feet of vertical clearance.  Representatives of SCDOT will be available to answer questions.
The meeting will follow an informal format. Displays will be set up in the recreation center and project team members from the SCDOT and FHWA will be available to discuss the project with interested citizens on an individual basis.  At 6 p.m., a formal presentation will be given on the project purpose and need and schedule.  At the conclusion of the presentation, the informal portion of the meeting will resume and attendees will be encouraged to provide written comments on the project. 
Maps and drawings of the project will be available, and citizens may ask questions and provide comments regarding the possible social, economic, and environmental effects of the project.  Property owners and business owners near the project are urged to attend.

SCDOT Schedules Lane Closures for Repairs on I-85 Spartanburg County
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is announcing a schedule of lane closures on a section of I-85 in Spartanburg County to make repairs to the outside Northbound lane. The work is necessary due to settling in a section of concrete in that lane.
 
·         Starting Sunday December 2nd at 8:00 pm, I-85 Northbound will be reduced to one lane in Spartanburg County for the repairs. The two closed lanes will remain closed until repairs are complete. 
 
·         The lane restrictions will take place between the 76 and 77 mile marker which is between Hwy 9 and Business 85. 
 
·         Both the right and center lanes will be closed for approximately 36 hours. The right lane will be closed for an additional 48 hours to allow the new concrete to cure.
 
·         Once the curing process is complete and inspected to make sure the work has been done properly, all lanes will be open.

Public Meeting Nov. 29 in Oconee County Concerning Proposed Bridge Removal
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a public information meeting Thursday, Nov. 29, concerning the proposed bridge removal of the S-64 (N. Seed Farm Road) bridge over Norfolk Southern railroad, located 2 miles east of Westminster.
The meeting will be between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Westminster Chamber of Commerce, located in the restored Westminster train depot on Historic Main Street, Westminster.  The meeting will have a drop-in format, with displays for viewing.  A formal presentation will not be given during this time.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide information and solicit feedback from area residents concerning the proposed bridge removal of the S-64 (N. Seed Farm Road) bridge over Norfolk Southern railroad.  This bridge is recommended for removal without replacement due to considerations including infrastructure condition, traffic patterns, economical factors and safety concerns.  This meeting will provide the public an opportunity to review and discuss this bridge removal individually with representatives from SCDOT. Displays will be available showing the bridge and surrounding area.
