The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and Lee Construction Company of the Carolinas, Inc. plan to repair the southbound lanes of the bridge on SC 9 (Lancaster Highway) over the Catawba River in Lancaster County. The road will be closed to through traffic and detoured beginning Sunday, December 14, 2008. The
detour is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:00 am that day and
continue until December 18, 2008, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) highway and bridge
construction contracts awarded August through October have been
approximately $15 million under the anticipated cost estimates,
apparently due to economic and market conditions.
Carolina Comptroller General Richard Eckstrom presented the South
Carolina Department of Transportation with a rebate check for
South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled three
public information meetings in November concerning the proposed I-526
Mark Clark Expressway Environmental Impact Statement.
