Georgetown County US 17 Median Improvements Project Update
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) hosted a second public information meeting on April 5, 2012 for the US 17 Median Improvement project that will extend from Waverly Road to Baskervill Drive in Georgetown County.
Three concept alternatives were presented at the meeting for public viewing, and public comments regarding the project alternatives were received through April 19, 2012. Based on these comments, a conceptual plan was selected for further evaluation during the environmental process.
The recommended plan maintains existing US 17 traffic signals at Waverly Road/North Causeway Drive and at Martin Luther King Drive/Brown Lane while adding new traffic signals at U.S. Post Office/Lachicotte Drive and at Hotel Drive/Jetty Drive.

This concludes the public involvement phase of the project. The anticipated schedule for remaining phases of the project is as follows:

SCDOT Considers Replacing the US 76 Bridges Over Mill Creek in Richland County Under One Contract
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking public comment for a proposed amendment to the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) that involves revising plans for replacing the US 76 eastbound lane bridge over Mill Creek in Richland County to include the replacement of the US 76 westbound lane bridge at the same location.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is announcing the selection of five Forest Highway projects across the state.  At this time SCDOT is soliciting public comment on the selected projects prior to their consideration for inclusion in the South Carolina Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).
