SCDOT Seeks Public Comment on Proposed Funding Increase to MPOs, COGs

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking comments from the public on a proposed increase in funding to the ten Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO’s) and ten Council Of Governments (COG’s) in South Carolina. The proposed increase will reflect a ramped yearly increase over the life of the recently passed SAFETEA-LU Federal Highway Transportation Bill. The proposed increase was agreed to in a cooperative process between SCDOT and the states ten MPO’s and ten COG’s . SCDOT Seeks Public Comment on Transportation Bill’s High Priority Earmarks

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking comments from the public on the High Priority Earmarks found in the new SAFETEA-LU Transportation Bill. The Earmarks are provided in two categories. The first category contains projects that are in the current Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) either as previous Earmarks or other program projects. They are shown as two lists, one referencing Earmarks requested through SCDOT, and the other as Earmarks requested by others. The second category includes the High Priority Earmarks from the SAFETEA-LU Bill not found in the current STIP.  These are also shown as two lists. Those Earmarks requested through SCDOT and those Earmarks requested by others.  A complete listing of these High Priority Earmark Projects will be made available for public review at the following locations:
