SCDOT Announces Replacement Plan for Cypress Gardens Road Bridge
After reviewing many options, including the use of a temporary bridge, the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will move forward with a plan to replace the Cypress Gardens Road Bridge with a permanent structure in an expedited manner utilizing emergency procurement procedures.

Cypress Gardens Road Bridge Collapse in Berkeley County
SCDOT has closed the Cypress Gardens Road Bridge near Highway 52 in Moncks Corner following an evening train derailment and collapse of the bridge crossing over the CSX Railroad tracks on Monday, April 28, 2014. In addition, a water line on the bridge was broken, disrupting service in that area. As of Tuesday morning, April 29, 2014, the following actions have been taken:

Portion of Hall Spencer Road in York County Closed
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Maintenance Division has closed a section of the roadway on Hall Spencer Road (S-46-162) in York County due to damage caused by recent flooding.

SCDOT to Build New Bridge on Baker Road over Limestone Creek in Cherokee County
The new bridge will be built on Baker Road approximately 4.2 miles southwest of the City of Gaffney. As part of SCDOT's routine Bridge Inspection Program, the bridge at this location was rated as structurally deficient and closed on Nov. 15, 2012.
