Expect delays, nighttime lane closures and periodic lane shifts to widen Interstate 20 from Interstate 77 (MM 74.7) past Spears Creek Church Road (MM 84.6) in Richland County. Completion is anticipated summer 2014.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) advises motorists of a lane closure required for the contractor working on the US 176 bridge over the Broad River to set beams on Saturday, Aug., 23, and Monday Aug., 25.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will be closing Hodges Street (S-40-1615) from Monticello Road (SC 215) to Noble Avenue (S-40-394).

SCDOT Awards First Act 98 Interstate Improvement Contract
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has awarded a $231,116,087 contract to Flatiron-Zachry Joint Venture to reconfigure the I-85/I-385 Interchange in Greenville County. The project will improve safety and increase traffic capacity for an estimated 194,000 vehicles per day that utilize the interchange. The I-85/I-385 interchange volumes rank only behind the I-26/I-126 interchange in the Columbia area (202,150 vehicles per day) and the I-26/I-526 interchange in the Charleston area (195,100 vehicles per day). The contract gives the contractor 1035 days to complete the project once a Notice-To-Proceed order is issued by SCDOT.

New Flashing Yellow Arrow Signal Head to be Installed in Rock Hill
Plans have been approved to use the new style left-turn traffic signal head, commonly called the "Flashing Yellow Arrow" (FYA), on Dave Lyle Boulevard at the Interstate 77 Southbound ramp in Rock Hill.
