Increased Cost Estimates for I-20 Widening in Richland County

In accordance with public participation procedures and State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) administration processes, the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is providing notification to the public of increased cost estimates for the widening of Interstate 20 in Richland County.

In May of 2008, the SCDOT Commission approved the widening of Interstate 20 from near Interstate 77 to near Spears Creek Church Road (S-53) in Richland County.  Due to updated cost estimates, construction has been increased from $75.2 million to $103.5 million. These increased cost estimates do not affect the existing project schedule and will be addressed with available federal-aid funds identified in the STIP.
