Nighttime Work on Harbison Boulevard Begins Monday, May 2

A contractor for the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) plans to begin resurfacing work on Harbison Boulevard between St. Andrews Road and the Interstate 26 overpass on Monday night, May 2. (The original start date of May 1 has been pushed back one day).

Sloan Construction Company is allowed to work on Harbison Boulevard only between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. The improvement project is expected to be completed in approximately three weeks, weather permitting.

The public should be aware of the unavoidable impact to traffic during construction each night and that portions of the road will be left in a milled condition for several days.  Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the work zone.  Lane closures will occur at night only.

As a part of this project, three of the I-26 ramps to Harbison Boulevard (with the exception of the recently paved I-26 westbound off-ramp) will be resurfaced.  The contractor does not plan to close the ramps during construction.
