Bridge over Dutchman Creek on Homestead Road in York County to be Replaced

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Maintenance Division plans to replace the bridge over Dutchman Creek on S-46-657 (Homestead Road) near the City of Rock Hill in York County.

As part of SCDOT’s routine bridge inspection program, this bridge was rated as structurally deficient.  Due to the nature of the replacement work and to minimize the impact to nearby property owners in the area, the road will be closed during this replacement.  The road will be closed on Monday, January 10, 2011, and is to reopen in the spring 2011.

The detour will use S-46-195 (Mt. Gallant Road) and S-46-196 (Twin Lakes Road). The net detour length will be approximately 1.24 miles.

For more information, the public may contact District Maintenance Engineer Todd Cook at (803) 377-4155.
