I-385 Interchange Projects Completion Ceremony Thursday, Sept. 27, in Greenville County

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a ceremony Thursday, Sept. 27, to mark the completion of the Interstate 385 improvement projects.


The event begins at 11 a.m. atop the bridge crossing I-385 at Harrison Bridge Road, Simpsonville (Exit 26).  Attendees will enter interstate ramps for parking on bridge deck. The bridge will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.


South Carolina State Representative Garry Smith will preside. Speakers include SCDOT Commissioner F. Hugh Atkins, 4th Congressional District; South Carolina State Senator David Thomas; former SCDOT Commissioner Howell Clyborne; SCDOT District Engineering Administrator Steve Gwinn; and U.S. Constructors President Randy Snow.


South Carolina Secretary of Transportation H.B. “Buck” Limehouse, Jr., is scheduled to attend.


The three vital interchanges completed along I-385 are West Georgia Road, Fairview Road and Harrison Bridge Road.
