The 31st Carolina Spring Clean Impressive Results

Carolina Spring Clean Week was scheduled for April 16 – 20, 2007.  During this week, almost 2,000 South Carolina Department of Transportation maintenance employees removed 401,795 pounds of litter from 3,308 miles of highway.

The annual clean-up has been a part of the SCDOT litter abatement efforts for 31 years.  It is a major component of the Agency’s enhancement efforts as it provides an opportunity for the state’s roadways to be cleaned and increases litter awareness among South Carolina’s citizens.

The Carolina Spring Clean results for individual counties are included for a reference guide.
