Public Meeting Tuesday, March 20, in Berkeley County Concerning Proposed Widening of US 17A

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a public information meeting Tuesday, March 20, concerning the proposed widening of US 17A from the intersection of US 17A and Cypress Garden Road (S-8-9) to Moncks Corner near SC 6.

 

 The meeting will be between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at the Whitesville Elementary School Multipurpose room, located at 324 Gaillard Road (S-8-357) in Berkeley County.  Gaillard Road (S-8-357) is located between US 17A and US 52 near Moncks Corner.  The meeting will have a drop-in type format with displays for viewing. The public is invited to attend at any time during these hours.

 

The purpose of the meeting is to provide information concerning the effects of the proposed widening of US 17A from the intersection of US 17A and Cypress Garden Road (S-8-9) to Moncks Corner near SC 6, and to solicit input from area residents.  Another purpose of the meeting will be to gather information from the public or any interested organization of historic or cultural resources in the area.  Personnel from the SCDOT will be available to answer questions.
