The South Carolina
Department of Transportation (SCDOT) reports that a section of Interstate 95
southbound in Jasper County remains closed Sunday afternoon, May 29, 2016, due
to flooding from Tropical Depression Bonnie. All lanes of I-95 northbound is open
at this section.
The closure is in
the area of mile marker 22 near the towns of Ridgeland and Yemassee.
The following detour has been put in place: I-95 southbound detour exit 28: right
off exit ramp, right on Nuna Rock Rd, left on SC 462 (Morgandollar Rd), left on
US 278, to I-95 soundbound exit 18.
officers and SCDOT crews are on site along the detour route to help manage
traffic flow. I-95 is experiencing backups in both directions. Motorists may
want to consider alternate routes.

the 8.34 milepoint to 8.40 milepoint due to flooding
US 17 closed in the vicinity of mile marker 21
Six SCDOT crews
are working these locations and will continue to remain on site, as well as
along I-95, until the water recedes.
