The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a public information meeting March 31 concerning the proposed bridge replacement project on York Street (Northbound/Southbound Bridges) over the Norfolk Southern Railroad in the City of Aiken.
The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building Conference Center, 214 Park Ave. SW, Aiken. The meeting will have a drop-in format, with displays, informational handouts and comment forms. Project information, including meeting materials and comment forms will also be available on the SCDOT website (http://www.scdot.org under Public Hearings Quicklink).
The purpose of the meeting is to present the proposed bridge replacement project and to solicit feedback from area residents. Another purpose of the meeting will be to gather information from the public or any interested organization on historic or cultural resources in the community. Personnel from SCDOT will be available to discuss the project with interested citizens on an individual basis.
