Repairs to the Robert Edge Parkway in North Myrtle Beach have been extended to a completion date of Oct. 3 due to additional work needed and the recent inclement weather.
The westbound lane closure will remain in effect until Sept. 30, and the eastbound lane closure will remain in effect until Oct. 3.
The repairs are at the bridge approach slab on the west side of the Intracoastal Waterway, which is the transition between the roadway and the J. Bryan Floyd Bridge that spans the Waterway.
Work includes repairing the approach slabs, replacing the damaged roadway concrete, replacing and upgrading the expansion joint seals, and replacing the damaged slope protection.
Posted detours include SC Highway 31 (Carolina Bays Parkway), SC Highway 9 and US Highway 17.
