The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT)
announces plans to replace the bridge on Sand Hills Road (S-27-119) over
Cypress Swamp in Jasper County.
The bridge is
rated as structurally deficient and qualifies for federal funding. Construction
may begin as early as Aug. 3, 2015. Barring any unforeseen delays, the bridge
should be reopened to traffic by Oct. 30, 2015.
A detour will be
posted, guiding traffic along Sand Hills Road (S-27-119), US 321 North and
Clyo Road (SC 119 South).
