Severe Potholes Require late Afternoon Lane Closures on I-26 Eastbound in Lexington/Calhoun County area (Mile Marker 118) Friday Feb. 27

A contractor for the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will begin an operation to patch several severe potholes on Interstate 26 eastbound requiring single lane closures beginning at 5 p.m. and ending at 6:30 p.m. today, Feb. 27, at mile marker 118 in the Lexington/Calhoun county area.

The repairs along a 5-mile stretch were originally scheduled to begin later in the evening but were moved up due to the severity of the potholes. The contractor will repair potholes in one lane at a time, keeping one lane open. This is within the area of I-26 widening project under construction.
