Richland and Lexington County Road Construction Information for Week Beginning Sept. 22, 2014

Expect delays and nighttime lane closures to widen Interstate 20 from Interstate 77 (MM 74.7) past Spears Creek Church Road (MM 84.6) in Richland County. Completion is anticipated fall 2014.

Expect minor delays, flagging operations and possible nighttime detours on Alpine Road (under I-20) between Faraway Drive and Polo Road in Richland County while ramp intersections are being improved and I-20 bridges are being widened / reconstructed. Completion is anticipated fall 2014.

Routine nighttime lane closures are expected on I-26 from the I-77/US321 interchange (Mile Marker 115) to S-6/Caw Caw Road. (Mile Marker 136) in both the eastbound and westbound directions. The eastbound and westbound I-26 travel lanes from I-77 (MM 115) to Old Sandy Run Road (MM 125) are now shifted to the right to provide room for temporary concrete barriers and heavy construction in the highway median. The speed limit has been reduced to 60 mph in this area. Dixiana Road beneath I-26 has been closed and local traffic detoured for reconstruction of the I-26 Bridge over CSX RR and Dixiana Road. Interstate milling and paving is underway between MP 125 and MP 135, eastbound and westbound. The eastbound and westbound rest areas near MM 122 are closed for the duration of this project. A detour is in place on Old Wire Road to raise the existing bridge to improve vertical clearance. The anticipated completion date for this project is August 2015.

Expect delays, flagging operations and lane closures on Trotter Road (S-222), Bluff Road (SC-48), Broad River Road (US-76), Trenholm Road (S-33) and Clemson Road (S-52) in Richland County for patching, widening, milling, and paving. Completion is anticipated November 2014.

Expect nighttime lane closures for pavement and bridge deck rehabilitation on I-26 in Richland and Lexington counties from mile markers 107-115 in both the eastbound and westbound directions. Nightly lane closures are anticipated thru Oct. 15, 2014.

Rimer Pond Road (S-1041) in Richland County will be closed between Eagles Ridge Drive (Local) and Adams Road (S-2455) from April 14, 2014 to October 2014. Traffic will be detoured via Wilson Boulevard (US-21), Langford Road (S-54), Trading Post Road (S-1899) and Round Top Church Road (S-1051). Construction will improve safety around Rymers Pond. Completion is anticipated October 2014.

Expect minor delays and flagging operations on Broad River Road from Greystone Boulevard to Lucious Road in Richland County for the replacement of the bridge over the Broad River. This project will require reducing traffic to one lane in each direction. Full lanes of traffic are expected to be open by mid November 2014.

Expect delays, flagging operations and lane closures along US-1 (Augusta Highway) from Schofield Road (S-1849) to Old Field Road (S-31) in Lexington County. Anticipated widening construction along US-1 in this area will be completed December 2015.

Expect minor delays and possible weekend flagging operations along SC 302 (Edmund Hwy) from S-32-279 (Boiling Springs Road) to Norman Drive in Lexington County. Anticipated full depth patching and resurfacing along Edmund Highway will be completed Sept. 26, 2014.

Expect minor delays and possible weekend flagging operations along S-32-34 (Pond Branch Road) from S-32-77 (Two Notch Road) to the I-20 Overpass in Lexington County. Anticipated Full Depth Patching and Resurfacing along Pond Branch Road will be completed Sept. 15, 2014.

Expect minor delays, lane closures, and flagging operations along US 1 (Meeting St.) from SC 2 (State St.) to S-32-402 (Lucas St.) in Lexington County, for curb & gutter, sidewalk, and minor drainage construction. Anticipated completion date is Nov. 30, 2014.

Expect minor delays, lane closures, and flagging operations along US 321 @ S-32-663 (Wood Trail Dr.) for construction associated with intersection improvement.

Expect minor delays, lane closures, and flagging operations along S-40-1283 (Ridge Rd.) for full depth patching, leveling, and single treatment. Completion is anticipated October 2014.
