Bridge on Old Wire Road in Lexington County to be Repaired


The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) plans to repair the bridge on Old Wire Road (S-32-1258) near West Columbia in Lexington County.
SCDOT intends to close the bridge on July 15, 2014. The duration of the project is estimated at approximately 8 weeks. Repair is to include raising the bridge. SCDOT expects to have the bridge reopened to traffic by September 13, 2014, barring delays due to weather.
The proposed detour route is SC 35 (12th Street), I-77 Southbound, S-32-73 (Fish Hatchery Road), US 21-321 (Charleston Highway), and US 21 with an overall travel length of 7.16 miles.
