SCDOT Office of Public Transit Announcement of Funding Opportunities for SFY2014 – 2015 & Call for Projects

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is announcing the availability of information and applications for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) financial assistance to support public and human services transportation within the State of South Carolina. The State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2014-2015 funding announcements, information and applications can be accessed through the SCDOT website at


This call for projects announces:


FFY2014 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individual with Disabilities (MAP-21) (Rural and Small Urbanized Areas) – Section 5310


FFY2014 Formula Grants for Rural Areas Program (MAP-21) - Section 5311


SFY2014-2015 State Mass Transit Funds (SMTF)


The estimated total SFY2014-2015 apportionments available for Sections 5310 and 5311 is based on Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2014 funding authorized under the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) as authorized by the United States Congress. These funds will be allocated to preserve and protect existing human service and public transportation projects in South Carolina.


Application Due Dates:


    Sections 5310:    

  • April 1, 2014 (Letter of Intent to SCDOT and Regional Council of Governments)
  • April 17, 2014 (Full Application to SCDOT)

Section 5311 & SMTF:

  • April 9, 2014 to SCDOT


Applications received by the stated due date will be reviewed and considered for funding by SCDOT's Office of Public Transit. Eligible project recommendations are expected to be presented to the SCDOT Commission in May 2014 and appropriate public comment solicited. Upon approval by the SCDOT Commission, successful applicants will be informed of funding awards. The project period of performance is SFY2014 – 2015 (July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2015).
