The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a public information meeting Thursday, January 31, concerning Rosewood Elementary School’s Safe Routes To School (SRTS) project.
The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Rosewood Elementary School Auditorium, 3300 Rosewood Drive, Columbia.  The meeting will have a drop-in format with displays and plans available for viewing the proposed project.  Informal, written and verbal comments will be collected during the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide information and solicit feedback from area residents concerning the school’s SRTS project.  Another purpose of the meeting will be to gather information from the public or any interested organization on historic or cultural resources in the area.  A formal presentation will not be given at this time.  The project is proposed to help enable and encourage children, including those with disabilities, to safely walk and bicycle to and from school. Representatives of SCDOT, the City of Columbia and the design consultant will be available to answer questions.
