Public Meeting in Mount Pleasant on Tuesday, Dec. 4 Concerning the Proposed SC 41 Bridge Replacement

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a public information meeting in Mount Pleasant on Tuesday, Dec. 4, concerning the proposed SC 41 bridge replacement over the Wando River.
The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department – Park West Complex, 1251 Park W. Blvd., Mount Pleasant.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide information on the proposed SC 41 bridge replacement over the Wando River and to solicit comments from area residents and business owners.  The proposed project includes the replacement of the existing bridge with a fixed span bridge with 55 feet of vertical clearance.  Representatives of SCDOT will be available to answer questions.
The meeting will follow an informal format. Displays will be set up in the recreation center and project team members from the SCDOT and FHWA will be available to discuss the project with interested citizens on an individual basis.  At 6 p.m., a formal presentation will be given on the project purpose and need and schedule.  At the conclusion of the presentation, the informal portion of the meeting will resume and attendees will be encouraged to provide written comments on the project. 
Maps and drawings of the project will be available, and citizens may ask questions and provide comments regarding the possible social, economic, and environmental effects of the project.  Property owners and business owners near the project are urged to attend.
