Public Meeting Nov. 29 in Oconee County Concerning Proposed Bridge Removal

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a public information meeting Thursday, Nov. 29, concerning the proposed bridge removal of the S-64 (N. Seed Farm Road) bridge over Norfolk Southern railroad, located 2 miles east of Westminster.
The meeting will be between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Westminster Chamber of Commerce, located in the restored Westminster train depot on Historic Main Street, Westminster.  The meeting will have a drop-in format, with displays for viewing.  A formal presentation will not be given during this time.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide information and solicit feedback from area residents concerning the proposed bridge removal of the S-64 (N. Seed Farm Road) bridge over Norfolk Southern railroad.  This bridge is recommended for removal without replacement due to considerations including infrastructure condition, traffic patterns, economical factors and safety concerns.  This meeting will provide the public an opportunity to review and discuss this bridge removal individually with representatives from SCDOT. Displays will be available showing the bridge and surrounding area.
For more information, the public may contact SCDOT Project Manager Rob Perry at (803) 737-1440 in Columbia.  Persons with disabilities who may require special accommodations should contact Lis Bleasdale at (803) 737-1395.
