Public Meeting Nov. 27 in Richland County Concerning US 1 Bridge Replacement over CSX Railroad

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a public information meeting for Tuesday, Nov. 27, concerning the proposed US 1 (Two Notch Road) bridge replacement over CSX Railroad.
The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Heyward Career & Technology Center, 2560 Lynhaven Drive, Columbia.  The meeting will have a drop-in format with project displays available for viewing.  Informal, written and verbal comments will be collected during the meeting.  A brief presentation regarding the proposed project will be conducted at 6 p.m.
The meeting is intended to provide information and solicit feedback from area residents concerning the proposed US 1 (Two Notch Road) bridge replacement over CSX Railroad.  Another purpose of the meeting will be to gather information from the public or any interested organization on historic or cultural resources in the area.  The bridge replacement is proposed to upgrade the existing structure that is structurally deficient and to provide additional clearance over the railroad.  Representatives from the SCDOT will be available to answer questions.
For more information, the public may contact SCDOT Program Manager Roger Sears at (803) 737-1142 in Columbia.  Persons with disabilities who may require special accommodations should contact Lis Bleasdale at (803) 737-1395.
