SCDOT Seeks Applications for Fiscal Year 2013 Federal Match Program

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is announcing the FY 2013 Federal Match Program and is seeking applications for federal-aid eligible resurfacing and system upgrade projects with a 50-50 federal/local match participation.   Applications will be accepted from August 1 to September 14, 2012

            A mandatory pre-application meeting will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the 5th Floor Auditorium of the SCDOT Headquarters located at 955 Park Street, Columbia, South Carolina.  Representatives planning to attend the pre-proposal meeting must RSVP by July 6, 2012 by contacting Mark Pleasant, Statewide Planning Chief, at (803) 737-1444 or by email at

            Candidate projects will include resurfacing projects (reconstruction, rehabilitation, or preventive maintenance) and “Shovel-Ready” system upgrade improvements (widening, new location). Projects must be federal-aid eligible and the source of matching funds may include, but is not limited to, city or county sources. Attached is a complete listing of Project Qualifications under the 2013 Federal Match Program.
            Projects will be selected by the SCDOT Commission through the application process and priority will be given to resurfacing projects with remaining funds being made available for system upgrade projects.  The 2013 Federal Match Program will be contingent on the availability of adequate federal funding.  The Commission will announce approved match projects at their October Commission meeting.
