Secretary of Transportation to Report on “State of the SCDOT” on Wednesday, January 28, in Columbia

South Carolina Secretary of Transportation H.B. “Buck” Limehouse Jr. is scheduled to deliver the annual “State of the SCDOT” address to the Senate Transportation Committee on the current state of the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT).

The presentation is scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28, in room 308 of the Gressette Building.

Among the issues Limehouse plans to discuss are accomplishments during the past year, compliance with Act 114 of 2007, initiatives he has put into place since coming to SCDOT and the possibility of a federal transportation stimulus package.

Senator Larry Grooms (R), who represents Senate District 37 and chairs the Transportation Committee, invited Secretary Limehouse to present the update on SCDOT.

Limehouse is a Charleston native who was appointed by Governor Mark Sanford as the first Secretary of Transportation in South Carolina’s history. He was confirmed by the South Carolina Senate on August 3, 2007.
