Public Meeting Jan. 31 in Berkeley County Concerning Clements Ferry Road

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a public information meeting in Berkeley County on Tuesday, Jan. 31, concerning the proposed widening of Clements Ferry Road, beginning at I-526 and ending at S-8-119 (Jack Primus Road). 

The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Daniel Island School multi-purpose room,  2365 Daniel Island Drive, on Daniel Island.  The meeting will have a drop-in format, with displays for viewing.  Parking will be available in the northern lot beside the school on Barfield Street adjacent to the Berkeley County Library.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide information and solicit feedback from area residents concerning the proposed widening of Clements Ferry Road, beginning at I-526 and ending at S-8-119 (Jack Primus Road).  Another purpose of the meeting will be to gather information from the public or any interested organization, on historic or cultural resources in the area.  Representatives of SCDOT and Berkeley County will be available to answer questions.

This major road improvement project is being funded through the Berkeley County One Percent Sales and Use Tax funds.
